Violin on the F Train

"Hmm"

date: May 23, 2004

The animation was okay, the narration didn't work and didn't sound to good, and I didn't like the story. Nice Bach prelude at the end, though.

Author's Response:

You said the narration didn't work. Don't know if you meant technically or otherwise. I know that technically I am having problems with the syncing (one some people's machines). If your problem is with the actual content, animation, etc...sorry to waste your 1.5 minutes. But thanks for watching and reviewing!

You guys are geniuses. Brilliant plot, brilliant cinematography, brilliant composition, brilliant everything. That's one of the best amateur movies I've ever seen.

SD-Pong

"Needs fixing"

submission: SD-Pong
date: May 23, 2004

You need to fix your sound code; in the mode with the sound enabled, the game lags after each bounce sound completes. The same problem can be seen in the opening credits. Also, the "personal best" function doesn't work, nor does the "visit the site" function, but I guess you must have known that already. The game's okay with sound disabled.

Author's Response:

The Personal Best Wont Work Unless Your Actually playing It From My Site, Thats Why It Has Visit The Site There, Its Supposed To Mean, `Visit The Site If You Want To Use This` It Aint A Link. As For The Sound Code, It Seems To Work Fine For Me, Must Just Depend On The Sorta Computer You Have.

3D tank

"Good concept"

submission: 3D tank
date: May 13, 2004

But tons of bugs! First, apparently sometimes either the crosses aren't drawn, or they're drawn offscreen. Also, the turning radius on the tank is unrealistic; tanks are not built like cars and can turn on a dime. The collision detection needs fixing as well; you can run over about 50% of a cross without picking it up. Also the clipping needs to be fixed; there's a huge margin offscreen before you roll over to the other side.

A Boys Imagination

"Good Story"

submission: A Boys Imagination
date: May 2, 2004

The story was good; I'd work on the music a little more and I didn't really care for the style of animation.

Author's Response:

I agree that I should of worked on the music so more. I'm glad that you gave me a 5, and 6 for Style.

Ozymandias

"Hmm..."

submission: Ozymandias
date: April 30, 2004

I don't think the approach in the movie does justice to the poem. It just didn't seem to flow right. This problem does crop up when one tries to adapt or work with something created by a master -- sometimes it seems whatever you do just doesn't seem to work out. I'd encourage you to keep trying, but to develop your technical and storytelling skills before diving into something this challenging.

MANDY

"Brilliant."

submission: MANDY
date: April 28, 2004

There's a reason Wiesi is arguably the most important flash designer working, and it has as much to do with his serious work as it does with his frenetic, greatest-common-multiple action games. This is a brilliant artistic statement, and it's unfortunate that some people feel the desire to "blam" this because it does not deal in wholesale sex and violence. But, then again, neither does any of his other work, if you look at it.

Dance of the PE Fairy

"Well done"

date: April 12, 2004

The animation was excellent, the concept was funny, the music was good. Good job. I don't know why the score is so low, but I think the basic idea is that submitting at this time of day is probably bad because people who want to get blam points frequent the portal at off hours and just blam everything in sight.

There she is!!!

"Best movie ever."

submission: There she is!!!
date: April 11, 2004

I'd seen this before it was on NG. This is currently rated higher than "Bitey of Brackenwood," so as soon as it gets enough votes it should be the #1 movie of all time!

Tears in Heaven

"Excellent."

submission: Tears in Heaven

I see a lot of people complaining about the sound/video quality, but it looks fine to me. The message is a very powerful one, and I congratulate you on your desire to express your opinions.

The quality of life in America is much higher than it should be given the average quality of life in the world. By being born an American, I was given a much bigger handout than any US Foreign Aid policy has ever given anyone -- I got to live in a house, with my own room, eat three square meals a day, attend school, receive adequate medical care, etc. This all comes basically for free -- sure, my parents worked, but they worked in an air-conditioned office where they sat at desks; most residents of third world countries would consider such a thing a vacation. I certainly don't deserve any of this; I'm not just some really great person who earned the right to drink clean water by the size of my heart or my academic performance.

To the gentleman who blamed terrorism on "kooky religions," I reply that with the past few decades there have been prominent Muslim terrorists, Christian terrorists, Jewish terrorist, Atheist terrorists, and terrorist groups made up of people of mixed religions. Terrorism isn't driven by religion, per se, but by an intense, shared hatred. As America has lead the world into corporate globalism, it has in many was turned its back on its founding principles, leading to justified hatred of America by many foreigners. As an American, I hope that we will be able to help turn this around and become once again a country standing for liberty, justice, and the pursuit of happiness.

Author's Response:

The words you speak are true. Thanks for the review... mind you, it was mor of an essay :D
