Original concept!

Maybe have the shapes color-cycle in time with the music to make the game draw the player in a little more.

SimianLogic responds:

My original design called for two-tone shapes (i.e. blue/green) and which color you need to split would be randomly determined. I only had a couple of days, though, so the artist I usually use didn't have time to whip anything up.

You forgot the most important part of a game...

Fun!

Where's the fun in what essentially amounts to a game of simon?

VNStudios responds:

It's just a simple game and it was our first so we still have lots to learn.

Interesting concept...

You've got a reasonably good concept here, but the graphics could use some work, and some of the solutions don't appear to be actual English words... case in point, the solution to the last puzzle was "FLOVER." I don't know where you got your word list, but that doesn't belong on it.

Newtom responds:

I have fixed my mistake with letters W and V (W was absent)

Needs improvement

Decent start, but there are bad problems:

1) The letters up above should disappear when you use them below. Otherwise it's hard to keep track of how many E's or L's there are.

2) Some of the definitions are a little off. For instance, the definition of "brought" is phrased in infinite form, i.e. it's actually the definition of "to bring"

3) Several times when I typed a letter it didn't actually appear on screen; I had to press it two or three times to get it to come up.

MelonFarmer responds:

A1) It won't let you type in more letters then there are in the scrambled word, but yes I'll think about how to make the used letters more obvious.

A2) Yes coming up with hundreds of definitions is an arduous task, after you've been at it for a few hours your brain goes to mush.

A3) Never heard of anyone else experiencing this issue before. I wonder if it's a flash thing rather than my code...

It doesn't load

When I try to watch the video all I see is a bar that says "100%," and no way to proceed.

samuel1234 responds:

sorrrry , iuploaded the wrong one (stupid) ... come and see it now , it should work!

Endgame needs tweaking

So I'm playing right now on the "medium" difficulty. I've killed off most of the pirates, but now there are a few that are refusing to even try to attack, and are just huddled at the bottom of the screen out of range of all my turrets. They will pop up from time to time, but they have just been hiding out down there for over ten minutes now. I sold what I could and put some spear towers down there, but now they just burrow and seem to be interested only in drawing things out forever.

There needs to be a "fast-forward" button and/or a feature where you win if you have more lives remaining then there are pirates left on screen. I've still got the game going on popup in the background, so we'll see if I ever manage to kill off the last few pirates.

HeroInteractive responds:

Lol, I've never heard of that one. I think you could mark that under the "bug" category, they shouldn't be huddling down there. If they are digging, then it means they feel blocked in and can't find an exit.

Questions are ridiculous

There are several *living* WWI veterans; Ponticelli (according to google) is dead, so that's the wrong answer. The next question I got was about who wrote some book about spiders, which is *not* any sort of common knowledge.

There weren't even working lifelines...

Frenzy responds:

Notice how it says last OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZED WWI veteran. Look him up on Wikipedia. And maybe to you the spider book isn't common knowledge, but when you get to that point the questions aren't supposed to be.

Doesn't seem to work completely...

I assume that the male plot is simply incomplete, although this didn't seem to be stated anywhere. Also, it's a bit difficult to figure out who the various characters are and how one is allowed to interact with them. Finally, I solved the riddle (if solving the anagram was all that I was supposed to do...) but my answer wasn't accepted.

Why rush to put out a half-working game? I think most people would more readily forgive the extra time you'd spend debugging than the proliferation of bugs here.

Bomee responds:

maybe u didn't solve the riddle correctly because if u solve all three riddles, u can interact with liam... *shrugs*

as for the garrick version, it does say it's coming in 2007, when in 2007 i didn't say, and u are correct, it is not done. as for proliferation of bugs, i don't agree with that

Needs work.

There are some pretty severe problems. First, in the original version, the muncher walked from square to square instead of blipping, and a lot of the feeling of the game involved running from the different kinds of monsters. It's just silly now.

Second, I couldn't see all the numbers very clearly -- I ate a "30" because I thought it said "80" -- so I'd suggest you use a bold font.

authorblues responds:

well, on my screen resolution (1024x768, which is fairly small) all the numbers are quite clear. secondly, i did try to impliment an actual movement from square to square, but since the scripting for that felt the need to glitch itself to oblivion, i removed it in favor of a working model.

if those were the only problems, did my game really warrant a 1? i mean, couldnt you come up with something lower, as to make this seem ALL about your issues.
